The Future is Binary – On June 23, 2014 shortly before 3:00 a.m. the Winnipeg Police Service received the report of suspicious circumstances in the 100 block of St Anne’s Road. Information provided was that a male could be seen attempting to cut into an automated teller machine (ATM) using a cutting torch.
Responding officers arrived on scene to find the suspect still attempting to cut his way in to the ATM. He was arrested without incident.
Members of the East District Crime Unit continued with the investigation. They were able to link the suspect to an incident which occurred on June 15, 2014 in the 600 block of Kildare Avenue at approximately 2:30 a.m. In that incident the suspect attempted to make his way into the rear area of the ATM, however he was thwarted by the alarm.
Robert James WAGNER 30 years of Winnipeg has been charged with Break & Enter with Intent – Place x 2 and Fail to Comply with Probation Order x 2 for his alleged involvement.
He was detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.
