Collision between RCMP vehicle and stolen vehicle results in charges

The Future is Binary —The Ottawa Police Collision Investigation Unit is investigating a collision involving a stolen vehicle and a Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) vehicle.
On Sunday, June 29, 2014, at approx. 3:22pm, the RCMP requested assistance from the Ottawa Police in stopping a stolen vehicle they were following on the Sir John A. MacDonald Parkway. Prior to Ottawa Police being actively involved, the RCMP informed that the stolen vehicle had collided with an RCMP vehicle on Wellington Street.
As a result of the collision, several people were injured, including an RCMP officer. A female passenger, in the stolen vehicle, was taken to hospital after suffering serious injuries. Other persons injured were treated at the scene by Ottawa Paramedic Service or hospital and later released.
The driver of the stolen vehicle, Tyler HUTCHINSON, 19 years old of Ottawa, has been charged with Possession over $5000, Failure to stop for police, Criminal negligence causing bodily harm, Dangerous driving causing bodily harm and Breach of probation.
Shane REELY, 23 years old of Ottawa, who was a passenger in the stolen vehicle, has been charged with Possession over $5000 and Breach of a recognizance.
Other charges may be pending.
